Waiting

We are waiting. Waiting on the doctor. Waiting on her to pee. Waiting on her to poop. Waiting on her IV to start beeping. Just waiting. I spoke in great length to the wonderful nurses. We tossed around ideas about her treatment. We tossed around ideas about what could have caused this situation. While working on this post the doctor came in. Dr. Woodman was wonderful. She agreed Alexis is not ready to go home. We need to decrease her IV fluids and try and make Alexis eat and drink on her own. She wants to make sure she can tolerate them and not have the diarrhea start back up. The stool samples are pending. She believes the liver enzymes are of no concern. They are elevated due to the infection in her belly. We have sent a urine sample and are waiting on those results. Alexis has eaten a few bites on banana this morning and a graham cracker. She still will not drink. Not stubborn at all! I do not know where she gets it? I swear!
