The First Day of School!
>> Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Today was the first day of school! Bags were packed, kids were fed, pictures were taken, and tears were shed. The tears were not shed by my children, but by me. We got dressed, ate, brushed teeth, and got our shoes on. Brent came in while I finishing brushing my teeth. He requested a squirt of his dad's cologne Fierce (because all the girls like it) and for his hair to be spiked. What son? What did you ask? The water was running and I think you asked to curl up and watch Elmo and be my snuggle bunny (since he was just old enough to talk every time he would snuggle up with me he would say we were snuggle bunnies and we would eat pretend carrots, wiggle our noses, and laugh. Now I am crying again!) all day? Granted. I will call the school and tell them you will not be there today. Sorry, I was wrong? We spiked hair, sprayed cologne, took more video, and headed to school. Brent went right into his 1st grade classroom. He didn't even look back. We had to chase him down to say goodbye. Alexis started preschool today. She could have cared less we left. I did okay until she waved and said goodbye. The tears flowed. On the way home I tried to convince my husband she wasn't old enough. She should stay home another year. She needs me. No such luck. When I picked up Lexi she didn't want to leave. Her wonderful teachers told me she did great! Oh where has the time gone? It's too soon! I need Kleenex and medication. Maybe I should just go to bed. Lexi and Brent I love you and you guys are so awesome!!!!
